Elizabeth Fry

What stikes me about Elizabeth Fry is that she didn't let her life situation keep her from letting God love others through her. She was born in 1780, a time when women were not heard from outside the home. She had 10 children. This mother of 10 who lived in a male dominated society effected great changes in the prision system to ensure more humane treatment of prisoners. She also set up overnight shelters for the homeless, opened schools, started hospital reforms.
